Peter Daddo
Director February 2009 – November 2016

Peter worked with the Nicholas Aspro Group for many years and held the positions of Managing Director (Australia and Asia) and President of the Nicholas Group in the USA. His roles since then have included joint Managing Director/shareholder of the Launder Group and CEO of Golf Australia Holdings Pty Ltd.

Elizabeth Jones 
Director April 2001 – November 2016
Dip.Ed, Grad.Dip. (Literacy Ed.)

Elizabeth is a former primary school teacher, specialising in Drama Education. During her career, she has served as the Montrose Primary School Council President, Chairwoman of the Pastoral and Worship Committee at the Billanook College’s School Council and Chairwoman of Elders at the Montrose Uniting Church. She is also a Trustee of the Robert Rose Foundation.

Valerie Lyons
Director November 2016 – August 2017
B.Bus (Accounting), FAICD, FCPA, FGIA

Valerie possesses more than 30 years’ experience in strategic leadership roles within the health and finance sectors. Her depth of expertise spans seniors’ residential services, disability services and community services, with a key focus on building sustainable and innovative organisations for the benefit of the community. Valerie has previously held Board and committee positions with Leading Aged Services Australia, National Disability Services (Victoria) and Catholic Health Australia, and is currently a non-executive Director of Health Employee Superannuation Trust Australia (HESTA) and Ingenia Communities. Valerie is also a member of the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) Board Audit & Risk Committee.

Financial Results 2017

The Organisation’s statement of surplus
or deficit and other comprehensive income
for the year ended 30 June 2017 shows a

Independence Australia is a social enterprise that provides choices for people living with a disability or other personal need, supporting them to regain and retain their independence. 

We offer fully integrated support packages for individuals, providing accessible solutions in the home and the community, workforce training solutions and a full range of healthcare products, mobility aids and equipment.

Independence Australia’s strategic plan positions the organisation to respond positively to the evolving consumer paradigm in the health and community services sector, and positions us as a provider of choice for people living with a disability or other personal need.
